I need sleep

Wow, for the past week or so I’ve been having interrupted sleep.  I’m really feeling it today with my eyes almost hanging out of my head.

And of all days, I really need to look sharp.  I’m training clients today and tomorrow and it’s not quite the impression I should be making.

Last night I was fed up with it and decided I would sleep in the spare bed.  Maranello had decided he needed to snuggle right up against my body.

I know, it’s sweet he wants to be close to me, and they’re not affectionate cats so I should have felt privileged.  Nope, not when I’m already tired.  It’s just not what I need.

So I packed up my pillow and watch (so I could take my heart rate the next morning – it was 75bpm today!!) and picked up my slippers on the way out the room.

I turned on the light to the spare bedroom but Murcielago was all cuddled up in the middle of the bed between the pillows.

Arrrgh.  I couldn’t disturb him.

Back to my own bed I went.  Thankfully as I got out of bed Maranello got off so I at least had freedom on my own side.

I only got back into bed to hear this odd noise.  It took me a while to realise it was my work phone chirping because I had a voice message.

Stupidly I listened to it.  It was the training facility saying they had problems loading our software and asking me to come in early or send someone in to install it.

Now I couldn’t get back to sleep as my mind was going flat tack trying to determine what the matter could be and how we could solve the problem.  The problem was only on 2 of the 11 machines they installed on.

So here I am.  The people are busy working now and here I am catching up on my blog :D

Last night I went to spin.  It was probably about the first time I really REALLY enjoyed it.

Maybe it was having 3 weeks break but I secretly think it was the heart rate monitoring that we had going on.  There was a guy from Suunto (not sure if I’m remembering correctly) who had 7 heart rate monitors that we were hooked up to.  Richard would flick the screen from the Tour de France to viewing the 7 people wearing the HR monitors.

It was really interesting.

We were egged on to getting our HR into the red zone which was the max zone.  I managed to do it but it was hard to keep it up when you were becoming tired.

But for me it gave me the extra motivation to keep going at it.  After all others could see how hard (or not) I was working.

It sure kept me honest ;-)

Tonight I have a 45 minute off-road run.  This will be my first off-road run in my new trail shoes.  I suddenly thought that since these shoes are a 1/2 size smaller than my normal runners, I’m not sure how my orthodics will fit.  I guess we’ll soon tell if the shoes really are smaller.  Maybe they’re a bigger fit (shrug).

Ok, well time is marching on and I should try and catch up on other work I’m missing out on – I say it like I’m being hard done by.  Seriously, while I’m away from work there’s no one to do my job.  So I have to try and do two jobs every time I’m away running a training course.  Sorry, wasn’t looking for violins.

The nice thing about today is I get this fantastic view of the Cathedral.  Yee ha!
